Marzal Chasm of Saint Marcel was first reported in 1892 by the speologist E.A Martel as being a natural wonder.
Marzal Chasm was enriched with the Museum of the Underground World witch has been collecting most of the authentic equipment used by the most renowned speleologists: Martel, de Laveur, de Joly, Casteret, Ageron....
In 1983, the site was complemented with the first Prehistoric Zoo in France.
It displays life-size reproductions of animals along a shaded path of 800 m, accessible to everyone. Some scenes are animated and benefit from an exceptional sound.
