Upstream of the bridge of La Roque sur Cèze , the "Cascade du Sautadet" are the result of a remarkable whim of nature.
The river has carved great channels and cavities into the rocks, and sends its waters plunging into the complex interconnecting network of galleries. The most spectacular features are the potholes.
The tiny medieval village La Roque sur Cèze is perched high on a rocky peak overlooking the Cèze valley.
This charming village is dominated by its castle and its 11th century chapel. At the foot of the village, the river Cèze laps against the arches of the Roman bridge, which is listed as an Historical Monument.
